Sameer Verma followed in the footsteps of his older brother, a nationally ranked badminton player and soon progressed past his older sibling, moving to the notorious Gopichand Badminton Academy.
In 2011 he claimed bronze at the Junior World Championships in Chinese Taipei and silver at the Asian Junior Badminton Championships.
More recently Sameer took the Hong Kong open runner-up spot in 2016 marking his introduction to the world stage. Later in 2018 he beat fellow Team Yonex player in Jan O Jorgensen at the Swiss Open to add to his tally of 7 titles.
The young Indian has plenty of natural talent and this will be on show for the remainder of his long career.
