Kamilla Rytter Juhl has forged an exceptional mixed doubles partnership with fellow Dane, Thomas Laybourn. The pair took gold at the 2006 European Championships in the Netherlands and reached the quarter-finals of that year’s IBF World Championships. Kamilla and her partner were then victorious at the 2009 BWF World Championships. She also won bronze in the women’s doubles at the 2006 European Championships.
Now partnered with Christinna Pedersen, Kamilla captured the title of 2013 BWF World Superseries Finals, won the silver medal at the 2015 World Championships and the bronze medal in 2013 Guangzhou World Championship.
At the 2016 Rio Olympics and at the 2016 Japan Super Series, the women’s pairing won the silver medal in both tournaments.
2017 continued to be a successful year for Rytter Juhl, taking home a silver medal at the YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships – marking the first time in 21 years, since Europe had been represented in the women’s doubles finals. Hopes were high for the Danish pairing at the BWF World Championships 2017, held in Glasgow, where the eyes of the world saw them take home the bronze medal in the women’s doubles semi-final.
2018 has started well for the women’s doubles pairing, seeing them proudly win the YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships, much to the delight of the Danish fans.
Kamilla will be proudly representing Yonex and encouraging others to play badminton through the role of a Legends’ Vision Ambassador.
