Danish badminton star Christinna Pedersen is a doubles expert who has gained success with mixed doubles partner Joachim Fischer Nielsen and again with women’s doubles partner Kamilla Rytter Juhl.
Pedersen secured bronze at the 2009 World Championships, staged in Hyderabad, she trains with the national team and has won both women’s doubles and mixed doubles at 2013 BWF World Superseries Finals. In mixed doubles, she has also won the bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympics followed by a bronze at the 2014 World Championships, on home soil in Copenhagen.
In women’s doubles, Pedersen and Kamilla Rytter Juhl, won the silver medal at the 2015 World Championships, and a bronze medal at the 2013 Guangzhou World Championship.
At the 2016 Rio Olympics and at the 2016 Japan Super Series, she won the silver medal in women doubles and also won the mixed doubles title at the 2016 Denmark Super Series Premier with Joachim Fischer Nielsen.
2017 has also marked a successful year for Pedersen, taking home the silver medal at the YONEX All England Open Championships – marking the first time in 21 years, since Europe had been represented in the women’s doubles finals and went on to repeat that success by taking the silver at the 2017 European Championships in mixed doubles. Hopes were high for the Danish pairing at the BWF World Championships 2017, held in Glasgow, where the eyes of the world saw them take home the bronze medal in the women’s doubles semi-final.
With a string of victories to be envious of, Pedersen is the perfect role model for Danish badminton players. Stepping up as Legends’ Vision Ambassador for Denmark, she will help encourage others and the younger generation.
