Having won 13 English National Junior titles, Chris Adcock started his career as one of the most successful junior badminton players in English badminton history.
Since then, Chris’ career has gone from strength to strength. As a senior, Chris made his Thomas Cup debut in Holland in 2008 and then secured team bronze medals in the 2010 European Championships and the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Chris Adcock has paired with wife Gabby Adcock since 2013 in the mixed doubles. Through team work and dedication, they have risen through the ranks winning their first Super Series title at the Hong Kong Open in 2013, followed by a win at the 2014 Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold. 2015 saw them win the BWF Super Series Masters finals in Dubai and then take silver in 2016.
After a successful 2016, the UK favourites entered 2017 with high hopes and again found themselves in the semi-finals of the YONEX All England Open. Inspired by the support of the home crowd cheering them on, Chris and Gabby later went on to take the title of European Champions at the European Championships 2017, held in Denmark.
It had been a nine year wait for an English player to win a gold medal at this tournament, but with Chris and Gabby claiming the mixed doubles crown, history was re-written, with the husband and wife team, taking home one of two, England gold medals, won during the tournament that week – a feat that saw England taking the DOUBLE gold, for the first time in 29 years!
Hopes were high for the couple at the BWF World Championships 2017, held in Glasgow, where the eyes of the world saw them take home the bronze medal in the mixed doubles semi-final.
Now he walks in the footsteps of the legends, with wife Gabby, as an Ambassadors for The Legends’ Vision.
